Building Committee Minutes

Organizational Meeting – May 13, 2024

Regular Meeting – May 13, 2024

Regular Meeting – October 28, 2024

Update 12/11/23:

Thank you for supporting us in the referendum on December 9th, 2023. The final tally was 409 voting yes and 234 voting no.

Our library has been awarded a $1.6 million grant from the Connecticut State Library to offset half of the building expenses. Many of our patrons have expressed their support for our expansion project and curiosity about its progress.
We shall embark on this venture together, and we will keep you informed of any new updates here on our website and at the library.

We strive to help and serve the residents of Wolcott to the best of our abilities by offering as many resources and services as possible. Through programs and activities coordinated here, and providing spaces for groups to meet and engage, the library brings people together and allows them to build and maintain a strong community. While our town of Wolcott continues to grow and welcome families, unfortunately, our library does not have enough space to accommodate them.

We are hoping to get approval for a much-needed expansion to our library, which would not only provide the space needed to accommodate Wolcott’s ever-growing community but also give everyone a place to learn and develop new valuable skills and interests, especially children and teens. Patrons and groups are frequently unable to book existing meeting rooms because they are already reserved, or in use by another group. This expansion includes a multifunction room, a conference room, an elevator, and a storage room for the Friends of the Wolcott Library.

Please help us help you. We want to continue to provide for our patrons, our children, and teenagers- our community- but we need your help and support. By spreading the word and making your support heard, this expansion will hopefully come to fruition.

Stop by the Wolcott Library and ask how you can help!
