The Wolcott Public Library Book Buddies program partners younger children with teen reading mentors. The pairs will meet weekly at the library. If the Little is not yet reading, the mentor will read to them. If they are a reader, they may practice reading to their mentor.
Commitment:
- Book Buddies will meet weekly for ~30 minute sessions. Please arrive on time- your buddy is counting on you! It is suggested that mentors plan on arriving about 10 minutes before the start time.
- We will match & schedule buddies based on their availability.
- Parents must remain in the library while their children (under age 12) are participating in Book Buddies.
- We understand that things come up and plans change. If you find you can’t make it one week, you will be responsible for communicating that with your buddy and Ms. Meghan. Contact info will be exchanged on the first day of the session.
- Please fill out the application form (there are two sides) and return it to Ms. Meghan at the Wolcott Public Library.

Fall 2024– 9/16-11/8 (8 weeks)

Winter 2025– 1/26-3/21 (8 weeks)
Applications due: 1/17
Spring 2025– 4/28-6/6 (6 weeks)
